There is a known issue with the external application settings tool and newer GPU's. Using the auto detect feature in-game will properly detect and apply the correct systems settings. Resolved an issue where the dedicated/non-dedicated Server server crashes when a user uses “ rcon startserver “ console command.
There is a known issue in Multiplayer where entering or exiting a ladder may cause the user gun to disappear. The client simply needs to switch weapons to make the gun reappear. Uninstalling the AMD64 bit version will not remove the CD-key. To manually remove the CD-key or Ubi.com settings from the registry, follow these steps: Click Start / Run. Tyep “regedit” and press enter.
Navigate through the registry tree in the left window to HKEYLOCALMACHINE SOFTWARE Crytek FarCry Ubi.com. Right click on the CD Key registry and click delete. Server and client versions of patch 1.31 and 1.32 will work together but it is highly recommended that users up-grade to the same patch version of both the client and the server. To ensure that opening movies play correctly the user must install the same language version of the AMD64 bit patch that is resident on their computer.
Fixed a graphical issue with tunnel textures in the Stronghold map. Punk Buster is not enabled on the AMD64 version and Punk Buster toggles do not appear in server menus. Fixed an issue in Multiplayer where a player occasionally gets stuck on geometry in the mpgorgeamd64 map. Fixed an issue where LAN server disappears from the LAN Server List after using the cvar “svsevertype lan”.
Note “SVservertype UBI/LAN” should only be used before-creating a new server via console to define the type of the server. It will not change the status of an existing server.
Optimized and refactored code to take advantage of 64 bit architecture. Added Offset bump mapping support Patch 1.32 change log. Fixed a Shader Model 3.0 issue that caused graphics corruption on new ATI hardware.
Set the game to detect nVidia hardware to avoid shaders being compiled at run time. Recompiled the 32-bit version with a different version of STL to address some server slowdowns. The README file provided with the patch can be found under Support AMD64.

Do they not have a 64 bit version? Apologies for not understanding your query before, but that's the only game installer which comes with it. You should have absolutely NO problem as such installing the game on a 64 bit OS, but if the installer pops up any error message, then you can follow the method which I have given above.
There is NO separate 64 bit installer, or any 64 bit conversion Patch for Far Cry 2. The installer which comes with the game, should work on all OS.
(Though there are some old PC titles, whose installer does not work on a 64 bit OS). The game can be easily played on Win 7 64 bit. But, should you run into any issues, or face a lag while gaming, give the following links a read: 'Extremely Sorry' for this, but I couldn't find any other Forum threads related to 'Win7/64 bit' etc., which were having any specific gameplay query, apart from the above.

If you have windows 7 you can just use the dll with the same name, found in the same folder, but from windows vista. This is usefull if you have a laptop running vista 32 bit or something because you can just get it from that. No downloading from questionable dll sites required. Also someone needs to check out the final verdict on this file version thing because im using the winhttp.dll from my vista32 laptop and its version 6.1xxx i believe. So whats the actual version of this xp dll. Also though as a warning, if you are going to source your own winhttp.dll from one of your vista machines, the same rule still applies.
DO NOT place it in the system 32 folder. I know this may seem pointless but there might be people reading who have a second machine, which runs vista, and who dont want to download dll's from random websites. This way they have the assurance of knowing they already have the file.
but i do have some questions of my own which i might even have to test myself. When you install fc2 in vista, does this winhttp.dll install along with the game into your bin directory. I assume that it doesnt because the file is present in the system32 folder. Is this correct? But then this raises a further question.
What about just finding the winhttp.dll which is already on your pc if you have windows7 (in both the system32 folder and syswow) and then copying it into the bin folder. Would this work, and if not then why? The reason why these questions seem relevant to me is because of something that has been confusing me since this issue came up. If normally fc2 uses the dll from the system32 folder.
Then how the heck does it know to look in a totally different directory (the fc2 bin folder) to use the dll? Surely that makes no sense to begin with because it would only be looking in one directory. Can someone please clarify this?
Jack Carver is cursing the day he ever came to this island. A week ago Valerie, a brash newspaper reporter, offered him an incredible sum of cash to sail her to this unspoiled paradise; but shortly after docking he was greeted by artillery fire from a mysterious militia group swarming over the island. With his boat destroyed, his money gone, and Valerie suddenly missing, Jack now finds himself facing an army of mercenaries amidst the wilds of the island with nothing but a gun and his wits to help him survive. And the further he pushes into the lush jungle canopy, the stranger things become.
I'm new to pc gaming especially FPS. Recently i bought 'Far Cry' (far cry 1) with Ubisoft 25th anniversary game pack 'UBISOFT CLASSICS'. When i tried to play it with my Xbox 360 controller, i couldn't find any options for gamepad support in game menu.
When i googled, i came across about patches for gamepad support. But i don't know much about patches. Everyone talks about it in high level but its so confusing and couldn't able to understand clearly. What i'm asking is what patch should i download for my WIN7 64bit OS? There are many versions i came across and the latest V1.4 says it supports only for 32bit only. Where can i download the trusted official patch? Far cry official website shows only patches for FC3.
What should i do to play it with xbox 360 controller? (i knw many argues with mouse&keyboard over gamepad. Since i'm new to keyboard control i found it very hard.
So i want to give gamepad a try and choose what i ultimately feels comfortable with) will the patches increase game graphics in anyway? Want ultimate graphics and gaming experience. Is there any DLC and any other stuffs that i'm missing? Googling results only in further confusion.
Guide from basics would be much appreciated coz its the main reason for this thread. Info: Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit OS core i3 cpu M350 @2.27GHZ 2.26GHZ 3GB RAM ATI radeon hd5470 1366x768 res.

I recently found the 5 CD set for Far Cry 1 x86 bit, and was hoping to install it on my x64 bit windows 7 laptop. However, when I go through the prompts to install, it says Feature Transfer Error Error: -1603 Fatal Error During installation.

Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information. My Specs: Windows 7 x64 bit Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.2 GHz Nvidia GeForce 9700M GT with 512 MB 4 GB of RAM Edit: It works! I skipped Direct X 9.0b in the install prompts, and It appears to be working! I want to thank for his help and troubleshooting.
Java 64 Bit Windows 7
You da bomb, Man! (Or Woman!). I have run the game successfully on Windows 7 64 but I have a DVD copy.
It sounds like your problem is with the installer rather than the game. I would try running the installation programme as an administrator (right click and run as administrator) If that doesn't work try running it in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP 2 which was the op system that was current in those days. Also it is worth trying your key on Uplay just in case Ubisoft allows you to do a digital download. Probably won't work because Far Cry predates Uplay but worth a shot.

It is a long shot really but Uplay is Ubisoft's answer to Steam for buying and playing digital download games. It is much less popular than Steam but the only reason I recommend it is that Far Cry is a Ubisoft game and they do offer a digital download version. You can download the client here: You probably have to create an account with Ubisoft to use it. When it is installed you look under the 'My Games ' tab and it should have a link for 'activate a product' - this will allow you to enter a CD code.
To be honest this is unlikely to work because Far Cry is an old game. Try the admin mode / Compatibility mode thing first.
